Blacksmith demonstration by Mark

On Monday 7th November 2016 LKS2 were treated to a demonstration of sword and arrowhead making by Mark Watson.  Mark is a blacksmith whose main job is shoeing horses.  The children were shown how the metal is heated and then shaped to make different metal objects.  They learnt how important the job of the blacksmith was in Medieval times as they made weapons. armour and other essential metal items.

Visit to Nottingham Castle

On Wednesday 21st September LKS2 went on a trip to Nottingham Castle.  Through the day we took part in some wonderful activities such as; a tour of the castle, learning about and drawing some medieval artefacts, dressing up in replica armour and learning about life in medieval Nottingham.

Well done to all of the children, who represented the school brilliantly!
