Well, March was quite a month for dance at Awsworth Primary School. On 7th March we took two dance groups to compete in the Great Big Dance Off East Midlands Regional Finals. Speechless came second place and Ride came fifth! A brilliant achievement by all the dancers. The Speechless team are officially East Midlands runners up and secure a place in the national finals which take place in July. Lilly-Grace also performed her amazing solo dance to 'Scars to Your Beautiful' which came second in the national solo competition back in the Autumn Term.
Then on the 15th March we performed the three dances again to a packed audience at the Chance2Dance showcase with other schools in our district. This was a fabulous afternoon, getting to see all of the Disney themed dances that the other schools performed, as well as a chance to show off our skills on the dance floor once again. Check out the photos below to see what a wonderful time we had at both events.

The Great Big Dance Off 2017
On Monday 19th June we travelled down to Oxford for the National Finals of The Great Big Dance off. The 24 children from across KS2 were excellent ambassadors for our school. Their behaviour, sportmanship and attitude was a real credit to them and the school. They danced their hearts out and gave it everything they could, although they win a trophy, their achievements in making to the final and putting on a great display made me incredibly proud. Well done to you all!
We had a fantastic day at the East Midlands heats of The Great Big Dance Off. All the children did a brilliant job, they danced their hearts out and gave it their all. They should all be extremely proud of themselves, all the children who danced were excellent ambassadors for the school. An extra well done to the 'That Man' team who came 5th in the East Midlands and qualify for the finals in Oxford in June. Here we are in action!
