Global learning is interwoven into all aspects of life at Awsworth Primary School: it has been established in our development plans, it has been the stimulus of exciting projects, the springboard for local and international links and the focus of whole-school themed celebrations. Global learning in the school is led by an International Education Coordinator with the active support of a Global Awareness Group (GAG) consisting of various members of the school community who help to keep pupils staff and the wider community engaged and motivated in global dimension activities, which in turn have had a far-reaching effect on the fundamental direction and ethos of the whole school. We have a long-standing involvement with a range of partners including the British Council, local and overseas schools and especially MUNDI - the local development education centre. In September 2013 Awsworth Primary School was selected as being one of the pioneer lead centres for the DFID sponsored Global Learning Programme. Over the last few years the school has established links with partner schools in Mexico, India, Australia, Tanzania, Egypt, Brazil, China and Lebanon. In school there is a global learning dedicated display area, showing our progress and achievements over the years.
