In 2020/2021 UKS2 children took park in the outright campaign to speak out about Climate Change. We looked at the affect of climate change on children across the world and the affect it had on their rights, specifically articles 24, 27 and 28. After a series of lessons which included interviewing a trusted adult about their opinions on climate change and identifying their carbon footprint, the children exercised their right have have a voice and be listened to (article 12) and they produced their own work to get their campaign message across. The children took a lot of care to create posters, leaflets, poems etc. which included their thoughts and ideas for change. Once completed we displayed the work on the playground for parents to view and shouted our message to the community.
