As part of work based on space, we visited the National Space Centre close to Leicester. Pine Class really enjoyed the workshop, where they were challenged to land a shuttle on the moon. We looked at all of the exhibitions and particularly enjoyed climbing up alongside the rocket which, to some children's alarm, was higher than we anticipated. We finally entered the planetarium and enjoyed the show which was full of facts and fun.
The children behaved exceptionally well and carried themselves well through the day in the activities and around the centre. Please take time to inspect some of the photos below.
In our first Design and Technology unit this year, we have studied, learned about and made foods from different countries around the world. Take a look at a selection of photos below focusing on the techniques to cut, prepare and combine ingredients to create the variety of flavours and textures of foods from other cultures.
