WRITING

Can you write about something nice you have done at home during the holiday? Just like we do at school on a Monday morning in our Diary. You can draw a picture too.

MATHS

This week we will be looking at 2D and 3D shapes.

Look at this power point: https://primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com/awsworth-primary-nursery-school/UploadedDocument/563c293b4ea0454c9467de2812c535de/maths-day-1-1.6.20-power-point.ppt

Go on a shape hunt around your house and garden. Make a sheet like this:

https://primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com/awsworth-primary-nursery-school/UploadedDocument/d65a12d80ff741b4954ff6c19d45b07a/maths-day-1-1.6.20.pdf

and put a tally line in the relevant box every time you see a shape on your hunt.

UtW

In today’s story time Gerald, the Giraffe, was upset because he couldn’t dance very well, in the end he found a new way to dance which he could do well.

What can you do well? Maybe you have won trophies or medals? Maybe you have certificates or perhaps people have told you that you are amazing at something.

Take some pictures to show us what you are good at. This could be you with your trophy, or you ‘doing’ what you’re good at. Be creative and send your pictures to photos@awsworth.notts.sch.uk

READING

Aim to read at least 4 pages of your reading book to an adult.

SPELLINGS To be tested on Friday

WRITING

This week, we are looking at the story of Little Red Riding Hood– do you know the story?

Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0W86K1jBJFI

What is your favourite part of the story? My favourite part is when the woodcutter saves Little Red Riding Hood because I know the story will have a happy ending! I want you to draw your favourite part of the story and write a sentence underneath your drawing to say why it’s your favourite part.

Use this sheet to help you: https://primarysite-prod-sorted.s3.amazonaws.com/awsworth-primary-nursery-school/UploadedDocument/1ff79ee3382b4f0eb7f6e18f4d29e654/writing-day-2-2.6.20.pdf

Don’t forget to show us what you create photos@awsworth.notts.sch.uk

MATHS

UtW

Little Red Riding Hood wants to visit her grandma but it is
raining! She needs a new cape to keep her warm and dry.

Try different materials you find around the house (e.g kitchen paper, a tea towel, tin foil, cling film) that she could use to make a new cape, test them out with water in a spray bottle or watering can. Are they waterproof? Let us know what you decided was the best material for Little Red Riding Hood’s new cape and why!
