PHONICS

This morning, we are looking at the ‘oo’ digraph. We have already learnt the short ‘oo’ sound like in book, cook and look. Today we are going to learn the long ‘oo’ sound.

  • On Letterland https://child.letterland.com/sfuh777 look at the digraph ‘long’ oo. Look at all the options on the right-hand side: sound, story, song.
  • Can you have a go at writing these words with the ‘oo’ digraph: boot, moon, zoo, spoon?
  • Can you write a sentence with one of these words?

 

WRITING

Can you write about something nice you have done at home at the weekend? Just like we do at school on a Monday morning in our Diary. You can draw a picture too.

MATHS

Today we are looking at SUBTRACTION! Other ways we can say subtraction are: take away, minus, less than. When we subtract, the number always gets smaller because we are taking a number or quantity away. We use this sign for subtraction – Can you make it with your hand?
