Hello and welcome to our school’s website.  We’re pleased that you’ve joined us and hope that you enjoy sharing some time with us. Awsworth Primary & Nursery School began as a new school in September 2002, when the former Infant and Junior Schools were amalgamated to form a single school.  In June 2018 we then became an Academy, joining the East Midlands Education Trust (EMET) together with six other primary schools in the local area: Gilthill Primary, Hollywell Primary, Kimberley Primary & Nursery, Larkfields Infants, Mornington Primary and Street Lane Primary in Denby, Derbyshire.  The Kimberley School is also a member of EMET.  Details about EMET can be found on our Contact Details page.

In the photographs, writing and drawings on our website you will see our pupils and staff hard at work and play, just like the busy bees we have adopted as our school logo.  Working and playing is something we do well at Awsworth where we encourage all our pupils to achieve their full potential.

After an incredibly busy week, the fun doesn't stop! On Monday, we will be celebrating 'World Children's Day' as part of our ongoing work as a UNICEF Rights Respecting School. We invite all children to wear non-uniform.  Bright and colourful to stand out.  This year, we have taken part in the OutRight Campaign.  A link to find out more is below. The Children have been busy writing good luck cards to our Minister of state for Energy Security and Net Zero who will be attending COP28 later this year.   They look amazing and are filled with the children's work, asking the government to protect children from climate change.

Unfortunately, due to a heavy sports schedule next week I am needing to change the date of the meeting to Tuesday 17th October.  Please see the attached letter regarding the OPAL programme.

The school has a football competition on Wednesday and a district athletics tournament on the Thursday.  Due to staffing, I am needed to attend both in order for the children to take part.

I apologise for the inconvenience but I hope you agree the children come first.

Parents Evening Booking link

Please find attached the booking link for Spring Parents' Evening.

https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/AwsworthPrimaryandNurserySchoolCopy@awsworth.notts.sch.uk/bookings/

Please selected the correct date and teacher from the drop down menu.  All teachers have the class name next to them to aid the process.

* Please note that not all teachers are available every day.  E.g. Mrs Reeves (Oak) is not available to select on Monday 25th

Due to staff availability and space, we have spread parents evening over 3 days.  This ensures all teachers are available for 2 days.  We are aware that some siblings may have parents evenings on different nights which is unavoidable.

If you are unable to attend either dates, please contact the teacher directly to arrange a meeting at mutually convenient time.

As with our previous meetings, these are all face to face.

Dates are as follows:

Cedar(EYFS) and Year 5/6: Monday 25th and Wednesday 27th

Year 1/2: Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th

Year 3/4: Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th

As you will notice, Nursery Parents' Evening will be slightly different.  It will be held on Monday 26th March.  As the children have key workers assigned, we will send your child home with a booking slip to make it easier and ensure they get the correct key worker.

We look forward to seeing you their to discuss academic and social progress, targets and share their excellent work so far.
